Fabulous caribbean cruise on the Vista!! by kristilizzy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was the best cruise vacation we have ever had! First, embarkation was a breeze. I have never paid for FttF and I really don't understand why people do because the whole process is streamlined and fabulous. We booked a spa cabin (#14231) which was in a super quiet area of the ship that provided easy access to the Serenity deck and the spa. The ports of call all offered something different - swimming, partying, relaxing, walking, exploring, snorkeling - you can do it all!!! The only port where I would recommend an excursion is La Romana - not much to do in the immediate area. Souvenir shopping is best done in Curacao for the best selection and prices. I would also recommend doing a water activity in Aruba - I have never seen such brilliant water in my life! The ship offers so many things to see and do you will never be able to do it all if you wait until the last days. The skyride opened at 9am on sea days, but if you got there anytime after 10pm you would find a 30-90 minute wait. I never did make it to the skycourse, but I heard it was fun and challenging. You have got to try the water slides, even if you think you are beyond water slide age. And get to as many of the different food venues as you can - they are all so different and SO GOOD! You will love the Vista and this itinerary - book it while it lasts!

My trip on the Vista in June 2018 was very enjoyable. The activities and shows were really great. All the staff that we encountered were helpful and very professional. The only negative for the group that I was traveling with would be the R rated Comedy . by pambarba

Everything was done really well . The atmosphere was nice for traveling for 8 days. There were plenty to do. All the staff were pleasant and worked hard to make things enjoyable. The food and the service in the dining room was great. We ate in the Horizon for dinner every evening and highly enjoyed the company of our server Jerry boy ibanez gomez. We hope to have the pleasure of his service some time in the future.

The Vista is a beautiful... by Bernierfamily05

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Vista

The Vista is a beautiful ship. It has plenty of things to do and enjoy. All the staff members work very hard to make us feel welcome and please. Codos to all the staff members that worked from sun to dust, so we can have a good vacation. THANK YOU!!! Embarkation Was smooth, got there at 11;30 am and was in the Lido deck by 11:50 am. Cabin 11275 Loved the location only a few steps from the Lido deck, buffets, and all the action. Our steward Christopher was delightful. He was very cordial and did an excellent job. There were nothing to complain. He was great! Comedy shows Were hilarious Horizon Restaurant Food was great. The service was top notch. Aleksander was AMAZING. Excellent service, friendly, informative and very polite. One of Best server in the the cruise line. Cruise director Matt was EXTRAORDINARY!!! Best of the best. Carnival has a gem 💎 Sky rider Great experience, lines were long almost 1 hour wait. But totally worth it! Water park The slides were fun. My daughter had a blast. Lines were okay nothing to crazy. Sea food shack Was delicious, worth every penny. We eat there everyday after returning from port. Steak house Food was delicious ( like always) the only thing I miss was the NY cheesecake Lido buffet Was just okay. Blue Iguana Food was great. Always full , but the lines when down fast. Best burritos in the hole sea. Guys burgers It was just okay. Not like other cruises , that were delicious. Fries were always saggy and greasy. That’s so disappointed, since it had been my favorite in other ships. Cherry on Top My daughter enjoyed it a lot. She visited daily. Prices are reasonable. Casino I only tried to go once. The smell of cigarette smoke is to strong. So unfortunately could stay. Tides Pool Was our favorite spot. If you want to avoid the crowds the Lido. And enjoy the saunas. Serenity Deck Great place to relax and just lay back. Spa Was sooo relaxing. Did gel nail fill, (Lydia from Jamaica, is great) pedi and a massage. Everything was good. Debarkation When nice and smooth. We got up , got ready, when on elevator at 9:30 am. And were out by 10:15am.

Ship: Carnival Vista

This ship totally embodies the use of technology. I enjoyed using the Carnival Hub app to book excursions, read the fun times and view photos taken. Matt the cruise director is off the chain and really made the cruise 🚢 fun. All the ports were great. Food great. Met great people. Would go on this ship again.

Ok. Going to give my... by sususuper

Ship: Carnival Vista

Ok. Going to give my review on the Vista. Just got home from 8 days and had an absolute blast. I’ll try to break it all down for those that have not been on her yet. Staterooms: We had a Havana Aft Balcony room and the view was amazing. Having access to the exclusive pool and bar until 7:00 was great. Our steward, Indra was phenomenal. Room was always kept clean. Havana was definitely worth the extra money. No complaints. Dining: The main dining room left a little to be desired. I’ve been on many Carnival cruises and I feel as if it’s time to change the menus up. Same old, same old. We actually only ate there the first night. Pizza was awesome as usual. Guys burgers rock. Went to Jiji’s Asian and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Great food and service. Only complaint would be that we sat by the window and blinds were filthy. Same went for Cucina Del Capitano. Clean the blinds please. Food there was decent, but not memorable. Buffet was normal. Only had breakfast and it had the basics. There is a mini buffet at the Ocean Plaza that was a hidden gem. Great for when you are going on an excursion. Quick and easy. Seafood shack was hit or miss. Lobster rolls, buffalo shrimp, and crab by the pound were great. Clam chowder and sliders, not so much. We did the Chefs table one night and, although it is a great experience, I would like to see Carnival not allow kids on that event. There were a couple that brought their 2 kids and they obviously did not want to be there. Parents eventually took them out half way through, but it threw a weird vibe into the evening Ship layout: I’ve heard people say the ship is confusing. I disagree. It flows well. As long as you get to decks 4 or 5, you are good to go. They both go all the way across and all events take place on those 2 floors. Other than that, pools and buffet on 10, and you are good to go. Public spaces: First of all, main theater (Liquid Lounge) is poorly done. Being that it’s used for multiple purposes, it has loose chairs that wind up all over the place. There are gigantic poles all over the place that block your view from most vantage points. Definitely the worst theater in Carnivals fleet. Casino was fine, a little smoky, but that’s normal. Red frog pub was cool (do the brewery tour). Great beer and bartenders. All the shops were loaded with helpful and friendly staff. Punchliner lounge was nice and seemed to have enough seating. Plenty of outdoor seating all around deck 5 with comfortable seating. I’ve heard people complain about the atrium, but I didn’t get that feel at all. Glass elevators not being there didn’t matter to me. It had a ton of seating and a good bar. Entertainment: Matt was amazing as a cruise director. He was hilarious and new how to get a party started. Most of the fun squad were great at running events and trivia. Singers and dancers were the worst I’ve seen on any cruise. Good music, but the vocals were just bad (my opinion). Love and marriage show, Carnival quest, lip sync battle, and all the atrium and deck parties were a blast. Overall, it is an amazing ship and has something for everyone. I wish I was still there. We had great ports. Grand Turk, Curaçao, and Aruba were spectacular, la Romana not so much, but it will get there. I will be happy to answer any questions if any one has any, but my first advice is not to listen to the haters. Although it wasn’t perfect, nothing was bad enough to put a damper on my fun. If you look for negative things, then you have negative experiences. Have a great time, she is a great ship and probably the most fun I’ve had on a carnival ship yet. Embark and disembark: Port of Miami has a great set up. We had faster to the fun, so that helped a little, but we literally dropped our bags with the porter, walked around the corner into the building, and were on the boat and in our room within 10 minutes. Same went for getting off the ship. Went to our meeting spot, was escorted right off the ship where our bags were waiting, and on a bus on our way to the airport within 10-15 minutes

Unplug, Unwind and Sail by LindaSoftShoes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Our family group of 14 ranges from age 6 to 74. All of us found things that thrilled us on the ship and in ports too. The ship is a busy place full of entertainment and special interest offerings. Loud parties, quiet cubbyholes for the introvert. We enjoyed the ship, the staff, and the sea!

Great Services by your staff and my cabin steward’s service by Dean was great!! by by DesireeKemp

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Great time however more adult entertainment and music artists varieties is a must next time. Ship became boring after awhile. However overall experience was great! Buffet menu can do with less vegetarian and more options fir all. Fruit variety needs to be more than bananas, orange, cantaloupe and watermelon or just few pineapples...should be more tropical. The choice of beverages for meals is needed. The lemonade provided was awfully bland and repetitive. Ice cream needs to be ice cream instead of ice milk. Just food for thought.

Great cruise ports by Sm4245

I think carnival cruise lines are dedicated to party singles or adults not for young families based on my other cruises on other cruise lines.

Before getting to the review... by AmandaPeter

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Vista

Before getting to the review of the ship let us first say, the crew, staff, fun squad, and camp ocean staff were all amazing. The ship itself is similar in cleanliness and maintenance to all other ships we've sailed on (you wouldnt really notice it was only 2 years old). The ropes course and sky cycles are a nice novelty and the water slide with the inner tubes is super fun. Sports square and the clubhouse were also good but are obviously used hard. The bowling never seemed to be working at at $3/per per game (just five frames) seemed too expensive for what it was. By far the comfiest hangout for us was the Red Frog Pub. Good atmosphere comfortable seating, and fun games. The piano bar was comfortable and the Ocean Plaza space an improvement on similar spaces on other ships. So why only 3 stars. Well we were disappointed in the Liquid Lounge and Atrium spaces. The Atrium awkwardly organized and other ships have a far more impressive and convenient space for activities. The Liquid Lounge was the worst. The seating style is terrible to watch performances especially for kids. There's no elevation gain to allow you to see over the people in front and balcony views are obscured by tinted glass. To make it worse all the chairs are high backed. The only remedy is to get there very early to get a front row seat. A final issue it the lack of tables (and the ones attached to the arms of the folding chairs are all bent) so your left holding your drink. Makes clapping, waving and dancing difficult.
