Review summary

Ok, I need to know... is this ship as bad as everyone is saying. This will be our 5th Carnival cruise and just alittle worried...were the type of people who are thankful we just get to go on vacation. Just curious. TIA

You will enjoy it because you have the right attitude. But I also thought the Breeze was a fantastic design. Cruise companies read our reviews so if everyone names their favorite ship, designers might take notice.

Thank you everyone for your feedback! Were just there to get out of the cold and roll with it for the week!

@jkm04 - I’m with you. I just wish I could have cruised on the Breeze before it left Galveston. I’ve heard that was one of the best ships!

@sherbs, we’ve been on the Magic twice and loved it. Valor once and I thought it was just ok, but others seem to love it so don’t listen to me. And we cruise on the Vista in July!

The Vista being a "bad" ship is all in a passenger's expectations. It is a different experience than other Carnival ships. The cabins have a more sedate decor. The passageways are plain. The atrium is only a bar with a small platform for a Duo or 3 piece band, no dance floor, no seating other than at the bar area, and no glass elevators. The Ocean Plaza on deck 5 is where a lot of inside activities happen. The Cloud 9 Spa thermal suites are different and smaller than on the other ships that offer it (with even more spa category cabins). Also no Thalassotherapy pool, just a 6 seater hot tub. The Red Frog Pub is much larger, because of the on board distillery and many music related activities occur there. There are hundreds of other small differences that I could list that make the Vista (and Horizon) different, but a lot in a way will still be the same. Like the activities offered by the CD, the music played by the DJ, and the types of entertainment offered.

Our last cruise was on the Valor and I hated it (while others love it) so I’m thinking it’s just a matter of opinion. I am hoping for newer and cleaner accommodations on Vista but I really think I’m spoiled after going on the Breeze. That’s a nice ship.

We were on the Vista earlier this year, and we thought it was great! It was our first cruise, so nothing to compare, but we didn't have any issues with lines or feeling crowded. We are leaving on the Valor in 2 months and the Magic in 2020, so we'll get to see the differences then!

Great Ship... Naysayers are just that....

The main theater seating is poorly designed. It has some great features and some that we found lacking. If you have the chance, check out the 4D theatre (it was fun). Any ship can be fun with the right attitude. Enjoy your adventure!😎

We just got off yesterday. It was a sold out trip, yet it never felt crowded to me other than trying to watch the playoff game. I personally didn’t think debarkation was bad, either. They started right at 8:30. We were on deck 6, and we were driving away at 10:10AM. For so many people to get off one ship and go through customs, I think that’s reasonable.

Everyone has different experiences as well....

For Vista being such a big ship it feels really small inside like around the atrium and stuff but it’s a wonderful ship....just have fun and explore.......I enjoyed her a lot!!

Very poor layout. Theater has terrible seating.

For a Carnival ship, Vista is nice. Poor layout. But it covers the bases
