Review summary

I selected carnival because I enjoyed the previous carnival cruises. This one was not what I expected. On previous carnival ships the atrium was amazing. This was the first thing you saw so you were in awe as you entered the ship. The Vista' s atrium was something you might see as you entered a medical clinic, not even as nice as a shopping mall atrium. Very disappointing. It took 5 days to find my way around. In some cases you were forced to travel through the casino which was all open smoking. I am an ex-smoker and it was disgusting. My eyes burned for several hours. They had very few shops. The food at the buffet was terrible. Twice I attempted to eat a Caesar Salad and both times it tasted like fish. One night the fried chicken was under cooked. Other than the salads the choices were very slim on the buffet. Buffet was self serve slowing the line down. In the past there was carnival staff dishing up the food. The liquid lounge had a horrible design and was too small. The cruise director and the carnival dancers were amazing. The props appeared to be unprofessional but I believe they did the best with what they had. If it had not been for the dancers I would be requesting a refund. I spoke to several people on the cruise and not one had a good thing to say. I'm not sure there will be very many return cruiser to the Vista. The smaller ships are so much better. I had an extended balcony cabin. It was pretty nice. I understand the regular balconies are very small. Mahogany Bay is nothing more than a small beach area with overpriced junk. It is pretty. The basketball court and water slides were closed. The bike rail only lasted a day and was down the rest of the cruise.

Obviously cruising is not for them, fresh how can anyone be that miserable on a cruise and still spend the money to take more🤔

I've never been to a medical center with an atrium like the Vista, they are all bland and white. Ceasar salad may taste like fish because the dressing is made with anchovies. Sorry you didn't like it, but contrary to what you think, there are those of us who will return to the Vista.

Caesar dressing has anchovies in it . It should taste a little like fish.

We enjoyed the vista. But then we have enjoyed all of the ships we have been on. Will b on the vistas as a returning guest next year. Ill admit the layout is different and i dont usually like change but still found it beautiful with the same amazing staff carnival always has. The magic is still my favorite ship. The beauty in cruising is u have options....if u dont like the buffet go to one of the many other food places.

Well, I’m still excited. I watched videos and going with an open mind. I will be in good company, and that always makes for a good time. The Caesar salad tasting like fish..... that happened to my daughter on the Breeze earlier this year. She actually found a piece of fish in it. She was grossed out. We do love Carnival and try to make the best of the few setbacks. I just asked my daughter about the fish.... lol she said I didn’t need to repeat it and tell people. Some people have allergies to some fish..... that could be bad. She is about to actually eat a Caesar’s salad! 😂 I’m glad you like the dancers! We critique them. Usually one of the performers either can’t sing or dance. ‘Usually’
