Review summary

I was in the Carnival Vista earlier this week. Nice big ship but every public area seems to be smaller than on older ships with a lot less amount of passengers. The theater is their biggest fiasco but if you are a regular Carnival cruiser you have seen all the shows already. I had. That thing in the atrium is too big for that space. They should consider relocating the bar to a side instead of the center. Views from higher decks are not good. The Skyride, the big new feature of the ship was closed /broken during the entire cruise. Felt like asking for a credit...but why waste my time. I made my regular donations to the casino so lucky people could enjoy free cruises (LOL). Selected "my time dining" but somebody messed up and my card had the early sitting option at the MDR which I never used. I had dinner at the Lido buffet every night. I did not gain any additional weight, so I'm happy. Guy's burger joint was not as good as before but still better than Carnival’s old burgers. There is a board with menu options but when I asked for one of those I was told they have all the toppings outside so we could serve ourselves. Definitely, I stayed close to see if somebody else got the same response and did not have to wait long. Have to say that lines were really long at both the burgers and the burritos eateries. I had a balcony cabin and it was great. No downturn service even offered. Not a big deal but missed it. The Water Park was unbelievably great for both adults and kids. Stand comedy still the best thing at Carnival cruises. They have an IMAX theater and a Thrill theater. Both were very good and cheap by NYC standards. Outdoors movies good too but how many times can you watch the World's Greater Entertainer in four days? Same as HBO, I know. Lots of live music entertainment options throughout the ship. Not bad. I guess I have mixed feelings about this ship. I think Carnival still have a lot to learn about handling and designing big ships. However, I just did select this cruise for the price, which was excellent. Believe it or not, I still had a great cruise!

If they mess up your dining time, you can stop by customer service and ask them to change it.

Relaxn, maybe...but how good can a burger really be? They're definitely better than what they used to serve.

I might be the only person in the cruise world that didn't find that Guy's Burger was anything to write home about. 🤷‍♀️

Nice review! I was on Vista last November and agree with everything said. Doing Horizon this November. Probably be the same all over again. Except for this time instead of a suite I have a Havana Cabana.
