It was our first time on Carnival and my wife's first cruise. They made a good enough impression that my wife wants to go on another cruise and we would consider Carnival again in the future but maybe a different boat.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Everything was great although I did purchase the Faster to the Fun option and my luggage took a long time to get to me when it was supposed to be expedited. That is the reason I did not give 5 stars.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
I did enjoy what I ate and drank but did not like the portion sizes for the meals. Cruises are known for their food and Carnival was a little scarce with portions compared with another Cruise line I have been on.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The fitness center was awesome, one of the best I've seen on a ship. The pools were too small and filled up quickly but they were well maintained. If you went early in the morning you could enjoy them before the lunch crowd gets there. The casino allowed smoking so we didn't get to enjoy it as it was filled with smoke.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
We tried the comedy show and it was ok. I do think they did a great job of getting the cruisers involved and having fun but a lot of the things they did just didn't interest me or my wife.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The Staff was amazing. Our Room Steward was great and very attentive. Our waiters for Dinner were absolutely awesome.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is a little older but it they have done a very good job of keeping it clean and orderly.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We loved our cabin, just enough space and our balcony allowed us to eat in peace whenever the eating areas were too crowded which was a lot of the time. I will definitely do a balcony again. Loved sipping on a drink while looking at the ocean from their.
Ship tip
Get a balcony which gives you options when seating is limited in the dining rooms and buffet areas. Also, hit the pools early in the morning if you don't like crowds.
We just walked around and got some great food and checked out one bar. If there was one drawback it was that we were in this port for too short a time.
Many different cruise lines we are platinum and get luggage when we get on but we're not disappointed but it really doesn't to wait for your luggage your on vacation so whatever we have done 18 cruises and a lot of different size ships but have not had a bad on yet just because your have purchased FTTF or our platinum you need to change your attitude and demand things now they have thousands of bags to deliver... so just chill 60 days until we leave Australia for our next adventure.ð¹
Thanks for posting your review. We are cruising on the Victory next spring for our 7th cruise. I agree that I wish we could spend more time in Key West because there is so much to see and do just wandering around on our own there. We also love Cozumel and look forward to going to Paradise Beach. It' would be disappointing when FTTF has been purchased no you didnt get your luggage until later, but with the number of pieces needing to be delivered, it can happen. Join in the conversations on the forum and let us know if you are cruising again sometime.
