Carnival Victory

3 Night Bahamas (Miami Roundtrip)

Sail Date: June 30, 2017

Ship: Carnival Victory

Cabin Type: Suite

Traveled As: Large Group

Review Summary

The only reason to accept a Carnival cruise again, would be the lower cost, since it lacks in so many other areas. Carnival has come a long way since the Kathy Lee Gifford days, a long way downhill.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Apart from the fact that the person who handled our check-in, who must have been in her eighties, made several mistakes, and thus took a lot longer to register us than usual, overall we had a positive experience since this was the beginning of our vacation.

Ship Experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Even though the restaurant service was impeccable, the food was as bad as it gets, and the lines for the buffet were unforgivable.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The pools, slide, and fitness centers, were acceptable.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The musical acts were few to choose from, the one show that was offered, about the history of rock and roll, was excellent. The dance music that was offered, was extremely limited, mostly targeted to a college crowd.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The service, in most instances, were excellent, except for the speed that abandoned trays of food, were collected in the buffet dining room.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The cleanliness of the ship was impeccable, but the design lacked. There was only one public deck where we could traverse from one end of the ship to the other. The buffet dining room should have been arranged to allow for 4 lines, instead of 2. As a result, the waiting lines were excessive.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cabin was bigger and more comfortable than expected, even though the bathroom was smaller than expected. There was a constant smell in the cabin every time we entered.

Ship Tip

Don't have high expectations.

Ports Of Call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
Since we live in Miami, we love this port.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
The ship gave instructions that the American Embassy had made a press release, cautioning visitors of recent attacks on tourists, but since we endeavored to visit Atlantis, a five-star resort, we had no worries, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
The announcements for luggage tag numbers and release times, were lacking. The ship personnel stationed at the elevators, were not informed, and even though 2 of our 4 cabins, were suite cabins, and we had to members that required wheelchairs, we had to wait excessively.
