More than expected

Sail Date: July 10, 2016

Reviewed: 4 months ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

I had read so any reviews that used "older ship" and "dated" I had very low expectations, but was surprised when we boarded. Yes the pink bathroom looked a little dated, but it was huge! And I really don't care if they have a flat screen TV! The staff onboard was excellent and we couldn't have asked for better. Yes the ship shows some age, but the price and staff can't be beat!

Cabin / Stateroom
The room and balcony was really roomy. They brought in a rollaway for our teen. The bathroom is really large, but no plugins although the hairdryer is really powerful. Check behind the TV for extra plugins. Just 1 flight of stairs and we were at the adult pool, buffet, and drink station.
We did feel the movement of the ship, but the view was worth it. 8437 is right under the adult pool area so we did hear some chair movement above us. They do use some kind of sprinkler system to clean the windows, so the chairs were always wet in the morning, but quickly dried.

Food and Dining
The staff was amazing. The food was good, but stay away from "casserole " type dishes. They all taste the same. Crazy long buffet lines were the only drawback, but we are on vacation. I had time!

Make the quick walk to Junkanoo beach. Great fun and cheapest way to enjoy the beach!

Tip

The aft rooms were great because we could go 1 flight of stairs to be at the food and pool.
