This was our first cruise, all 7 of us.  My husband and I and our 5 kids ages 4 to 14.  It was very surreal to us. From the minute we walked on the boat everyone made us feel comfortable.  The first person we met was Sammy from camp carnival. She welcomed all of us and helped us get settled made the kids feel excited and free to ask questions. She even made my kids feel comfortable during our muster station drills.   She also gave them something to look forward to when they came to camp carnival. Our 3 youngest (Jaimee 4, Kane 7, Brooke 10) loved hanging with the camp carnival group.  They asked to eat dinner quick so they could go in to play! That was a relief especially that they could drop in when they wanted. They even skipped dinner a couple times which actually allowed us to have dinner alone with our two oldest (Kylie 14 Sierra 12) which rarely ever happens.  When we got to our room the first night we met our steward, Z, he was like having a Dad by our side.  He was helpful, funny, friendly and as well made us feel comfortable. We were known as "big family".  Having our connecting room was key. It made us feel safe and comfortable being on the cruise. As a family we got to go to comedy shows, watch shows on the stage, hang by the pool and enjoy family dinners.  At these times we met Angelo, our waiter who always knew us by name and was fast and quick to get whatever we needed with a smile on his face. During our first dinner we had the best laughs with the magician, Zolt,  even on our last night at dinner we saw him again and he remembered us and brought big smiles to our faces.   We did have one rough evening on the boat being rocky but all the staff made everyone feel comfortable and distracted. We loved coming back after being at a port and each of the staff asked how our day was! We definitely plan to take another cruise. Happy I think the only improvement I would say is at dinner only the first night we were asked if we wanted a drink. All the other nights we were never asked if we wanted a drink even the kids.  I think if Angelo was working there he would have brought us 4 by the time we were done with dinner;). Food was excellent in the restaurants and good outside. I wish the salad bar was bigger then it would have been nice to eat more than just fries burgers and chicken in the afternoons.

Don't add food into trips unless you like just chicken and rice. We did turtle museum and once they knew we had a ticket to buffet the didn't even get us water.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Loved the falls and bamboo beach but food included again. You have to like what they are giving you. She also was slow on drinks. We were all so dehydrated.

Connecting rooms is great with families. Plan main level ocean view of unsure. Less rocky down there if rough seas. Bring land yards for your cards and clips for towels on the pool chairs. If planning to go to the gym. Sign up for classes (spin Etc) early.
