Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Had a fly land in my drink. Rather than remove the glass, was served another drink, albeit in a dirty glass. Ship TVs are old and blurry, the kind you'd find from a Vegas hotel auction or flea market. Lido deck TV images look like you were watching a king fu movie (no audio/video sync). Lines for food were long and slow. Furniture from IKEA was more comfortable than what they had on the ship. Decor was stolen and recycled from the movie set of The Chronicles of Riddick and Posedin and created by committee (like the Pontiac Aztek). Lots of room service dishware left in the halls. Late night pizza station seemed like it was run by angry teenagers- food quality was terrible as was the service. Checkout was a 4+ hour disaster with people checking in as we were checking out. no one could really make sense of what was going on.

Pros: Excursions were the best- swimming with dolphins & turtles, ziplines and great shopping

Cons: Food and shipboard TVs were rubbish; staff unfriendly; checkout was disaster area

Recommends Carnival Victory? No.

Ship Quality
Ugly ship decor. Pools too small. Floors very slippery in lots of areas. Sea horse decoration on stair landing were injury hazards - people kept running into them.
Food and Dining
Had to listen to a staff member hack up some phlegm and spit it into drink reservoir during my dinner; had several steaks that were as tough as a leather purse. Bread harder than a rock. Flavor of food lacking all around.
Cabin / Stateroom
Sopa scum throughout my bathroom- was never washed out properly. Only 2 electrical outlets in the the room. Had to get an extension cord for c-pap machine. TV had blurry picture. Had to keep pilfering extra washcloths from room service carts because our attendant must have thought two people can get by for a week with just one washcloth and one towel.
Service and Staff
Did their best to not make eye contact with guests. When dispensing machines broke, would not inform guests of this- just let then fumble around with broken equipment. Did vey little to 'go out of their way' except the ship director- he was incredible!
Shows stated off with a bang, then got tired and old really quick. Comedians told same joke over and over (real tired). DJs can't mix or hold a dancefloor. Musicians were decent. Magician's act was tired and boring except getting cheap laughs from embarrassing a 7 y.o. with far jokes.
