Great Cruise, Not Great Cabin(s)
Carnival Victory Cruise Review to Caribbean - Eastern
Sail Date: March 25, 2012
Ship: Carnival Victory
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Family (older children)
Reviewed: 6 years ago
The weather was sunny and warm, the ship clean and functional. I enjoyed the aft balcony, but apparently nobody told us that the night club on the Victory is on the aft end of deck 5, our rooms vibrated every night and it was so loud you couldn't talk or sleep. My 15 year old niece complained and they offered to mover her to a cabin on Deck 1...for the same price (NOT).
The food was not spectacular, but it was good. One of our party is a vegetarian and she found enough items on the menu nightly to make her happy. The wait staff was excellent as was Lorna at the Martini Bar on Deck 5. The cabin steward was also excellent, we never wanted for ice, drinks or towels (just a quiet night).
Disembarkation was and always seems to be done randomly and is a complete mess. My mother was in a wheelchair, but there was no good access to the elevator. When we asked about getting her down to deck 0 to get off, the crew members were very confused about where we needed to take her. We gave up and did it ourselves, and got off with no further issues.
Overall, it was an enjoyable cruise with family. I would not recommend staying near the nightclub if you like to sleep.
