Service was good, boat needs upgrades

Sail Date: November 27, 2011

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

This was our honeymoon cruise. You get what you pay for, we got a great deal but the service was just ok. For example, my husband would drink the cokes in the room and sometimes they would not be replaced or only one can at a time. We were very disappointed that the casino permitted smoking, this should have been advertised beforehand, I have asthma. The smoke spread throughout the ship. The pool waiters were too pushy to ask if we wanted a drink. The food selection was ok, buffet lines were very long. This was my 6th cruise, I will say that for the price, we got what we made for but we were not "wow"ed by any means.

Pros: Ports of Call

Cons: Smoking in the casino and food selection

Recommends Carnival Victory? Yes!

Food and Dining
Food was ok, selection was poor. Buffet lines were very very long and similar each day.
Cabin / Stateroom
Standard room, needs upgrades.
Ship Quality
Clean, but needs upgrades. Specifically the rooms.
Service and Staff
We told our porter it was our honeymoon, nothing special was done nor our waiter.
Entertainment
Half way through the ship we had seen everything.
