Twice As Good The Second Time

Sail Date: August 06, 2007

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

This was a very special cruise for us. Our honeymoon! We debated whether we'd enjoy a "second cruise", thinking the magic and world of smiles would be dissipated the second time around. We were very wrong. The Pride was a wonderful ship to cruise through the Mexican Riviera 3 years ago. The Victory was a new and, again, wonderful ship to cruise up to Canada from New York earlier this month. What a difference in the two cruises! Yet both were fantastic, exciting and filled with new adventures. The difference being the calm sunny seas of the Pacific and the cold, foggy seas of the Atlantic. Both were amazingly beautiful, peaceful and romantic. The differences made our second cruise feel brand new -- like we'd never cruised before. Our dinner companions have become friends for life. Our adventures on shore were unique and life time experiences. Our cabin and balcony were perfect, even in the foggy night, listening to nothing but the sea and the sound of the ship's foghorn. We can't say enough about the personnel who catered to our every wish, particularly our steward and our dining room waiter. They made us feel like we were the most important people on the ship. And they didn't even know it was a very special cruise for us!

For those thinking "been there, done that" and might be hesitating to continue cruising after their first adventure, you couldn't be more wrong. The second time cruising was twice as good as the first! We knew what to expect yet our expectations were far exceeded!!

Thank you Carnival Cruise Lines. We're already planning our next cruise...without any hesitation! Colleen and Tom

Pros: Sailing the Open Sea

Cons: The Nightly Entertainment

Halifax, Nova Scotia
We spent our day on foot, off the tourist path, through the hilly streets of Halifax. We visited art galleries, funky little record stores and shops and thoroughly enjoyed meeting and talking to all of the wonderful residents of Halifax.
