Review Summary
My first cruise was in Alaska in September 2004--the last cruise of the season--definitely NOT the time to cruise. This time I wanted to see what kind of a difference the sun could make. TONS!!! Overall, the ship was lovely--room big and laid out well--kept very clean. Dining was a fun experience, but wouldn't suggest late seating--difficult to make some of the ships activities. Would have preferred parents to keep a better eye on their kids--we had a violent thunderstorm while in port and three children felt this would be a good time to swim in the pool. Staff very passive regarding antics of children. Did not like change in ports--was told change due to "civil disturbance"--turns out there was a planned strike (which had been planned over a week BEFORE we left port) that did not even happen and we went to a rather poor alternative. Would have liked some input into a possible change of ports--most other passengers I spoke with were dissatisfied with the alternative provided.Pros: the relaxing atmosphere
Cons: the unsupervised children!
