This was our 2nd Carnival cruise and we picked Carnival since we have 3 children - ages 5, 8 and 11. The things my kids loved are the waterslide and the 24-hour pizza bar. There could have been more sporting activities -- one ping pong table doesn't cut it -- but other than that the ship is great. We had a balcony, a must, in my opinion. Definitely recommend Carnival for families --if you're a couple looking for something more upscale, try Royal Caribbean or Princess. Dining room food and service was great. Didn't have any major complaints, but we are not very picky people. I think you can pick apart anything if you really want to. As in the past, I recommend booking any shore excursions independently and not through arrangements on the ship. It's cheaper and better quality.
