A Fun Ship for teen and kid

Sail Date: May 13, 2007

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

We recently sailed on NCL and Celebrity and found this Carnival Victory in the least favorite one. We were on a 7 nights cruise to Eastern Caribbean from Miami. There was at least 4-5 hours waiting line to check-in to the cruise and the check-in process was rather cumbersome. And that is not all, we had to wait in line for at least an hour to get to the breakfast or lunch buffet line. We had early sitting dinner so we want to find out if we can change it to late dinner. The staff at information desk could not help us and could not give us the name of the person who could. The staff at the tour desk was rude to us because we took a moment deciding which shore excursion to book. The ship layout is very poorly design. There no easy way to get around. The bottom line is we will not cruise Carnival again.

Pros: lots of activities

Cons: Waiting time to check-in and buffet

Recommends Carnival Victory? No.

Food and Dining
The quality of the food is average and we expected it.
Cabin / Stateroom
We were quite happy with the size of our stateroom. We got an ocean view cabin catg 6A. Even thought we are located at the end of the ship, the room were rather bigger than what we expected
Service and Staff
Ship Quality
The ship is very old. There are patches on the wall every where. The public restroom is really really small
Entertainment
Even thought we did not join most of activities on board but there were always something happening somewhere. We like the show we have watched on Tues and Fri
Children's Programs
We don't have kid but we seen lots of kid activities on the boat
San Juan, Puerto Rico
We dock at 5 pm and we need to be back at 11pm. Given the time allow, we could not do anything better but walk around a bit and grab some good bite at the 'Taste of Puerto Rico'.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
We love this port especially on the Dutch side. We love shopping and casino and the white beautiful sand beaches.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Beautiful place. We did not have enough time to go to the beach because we had the 'BOSS' shore excursion ( We did not like this excursion and we not recommend it).
Don't Miss: Don't forget to pick up some blue diamond. But be careful with the price they told you. We got a 3 stone blue diamond for the price of $1050 and while it is listed at above $6000
