A great first cruise

Sail Date: June 01, 2007

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

There was always something to do on this ship; I especially loved the comedy acts that they brought aboard. You will never go hungry as there is always food to eat somewhere on ship along with free room service and fabulous meals in the formal dining room. Our cruise director Malcolm always kept us informed with what was going on in the ship. The staff always said hello and everyone was very friendly and helpful with everything. We received a great welcome in St John and spent some time in the city but were anxious to get back on board! All in all a great experience for our first cruise.

Pros: The amazing hospitality of the staff, the food

Cons: The pools weren't heated during our trip and reached a maximum temperature of only 57 degrees.

Recommends Carnival Victory? Yes!

Ship Quality
The seahorses on the stairways are easy to forget about until you round a corner fast and bang your knees on them. The layout of the ship is complicated but floor plans near the elevators really helped. Everything was always clean and overall the ship's look was very impressive.
Food and Dining
Did not like the food at the deli but everywhere else was fabulous...and 24 hour soft-serve ice cream machine was always fun.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our interior stateroom was more than big enough for two people, and our stateroom steward kept it immaculately clean throughout the day, with fun towel animals waiting for us when we got back at night.
Service and Staff
Malcolm was always full of energy; you could hear his "woo-hoo!"s all over the ship. Our dining room staff were always amazing and I will never forget them singing to us on the last night.
There was always something to do, but some activities such as karaoke or the sing-along piano bar would be completely dead at times.
