Carnival Valor

5 Night Western Caribbean (Galveston Roundtrip)

Cabin type: Inside

Cabin number: 1409

Review summary

I was disappointed. With the exception of a few employees we felt that Valor was a 2 star ship. Inconsistent camp ocean hours, lousy food, excursion was rushed, shower flooded our bathroom 2x, overpriced photos, & overcrowded drunk adults everywhere. :( cabin steward had shower fixed. Going to give Carnival another chance but Valor is not for us.

Pizza Pirate

Pepperoni pizza was awful. Thin & didnt taste good. Go to Guy's burger.

Scarlett's Steakhouse

Our waiter was rude. Food wasn't worth the wait & of course overpriced. We should of stayed with the Lincoln dining room. Lesson learned.

Lincoln Dining Room

Georgian from Romania is the best server ever. And Allan the magician made our night. We also participated in his tricks.

Guy's Burger Joint

My favorite for snacking & lunch.

Camp Ocean

Wish there was a poster with their hours as it was inconsistent. Sunday they closed early so we had to take the kids to Scarletts steakhouse & paid extra. Another day they closed at 3, we didn't know & was charged a late fee. Staff seemed friendly but cell phone to contact parents along with the elevator did not work the entire ship.

Ship tip

Be mindful that if your taking small children, there will be lots of drunk adults & camp ocean times were not consistent.

Banana2sn with so many loved ones going I'm sure you'll have a great time. Those were just a few things we've experienced that we could of done without. I've traveled with Carnival before with no problems. Soon were doing the Vista. Vista caters to families with small children so well enjoy that more.

mystang Did you read my comment? This was MY families experience. I didn't say I hated the ship but I'm not going to rave about it either. Glad you had a better experience.

AugCruiser. Exactly. I have my eyes on Vista. Vista even has a section reserved ONLY for families with 11 year olds & younger. Looking forward to that. I don't think Valor is for little ones.

Brad1312 I love cruising. I just won't do Valor anymore.

Were taking my 8 yr old G-daughter for the week after her mommy gets married as a surprise! And then all the sudden we have 20 family going! Lol! We cant believe that they are going but can't wait! Hope the Valor is good enough for their first one! Any cruise is great for us! Can't wait to see the Valor! Were trying to cruise on all the ships lol... Vista is next on our list!!

Oh wow. Taking the whole family on her in August. First cruise for my kids and grandsons. Gosh I hope they love her.

I've done it twice out of Galveston with no issues. Staff was nice and the experience was par with other Carnival ships

You might want to take that saying you have as a picture to Heart.

my first cruise was on Valor, no complaints, going again in August on valor

I agree. I've had wonderful experiences with the exception of Valor. It was not bad enough for us not to go on the ship (going again this summer) but it's not as nice as the other ships. Staff and all. August is the best month to cruise for us so there were not any other ships to choose from. Trust me I tried to avoid Valor. My BFF had issues with never having clean towels in her room. Having to wait for an hour for some after she requested it. There was a leak in the hallway that we had to step over for like 2 days straight. Seemed like the restroom in the public areas always had handyman working on them. But we are people that were just glad to be on vacation lol. We still had a blast! Just easy to notice when you all your other experiences where so great.
