Service wise this was the best experience we have had! Love that every time you turn around there are servers available but they are not constantly in your face trying to get you to buy or order something, made for a very enjoyable trip and found that we actually spent more than usual! Cabin slightly larger than expected with tons of closets and drawers! This cruise only has one at sea day and the other days all had stops so we were very busy! Found that all of the food and entertainment we kept describing as adequate, there were a few meals that were slightly better in the dining room but found that often times the buffet had tastier choices. Was expecting to find more gourmet offerings in the dining room. The biggest disappointment I think were the desserts. Very mixed group of passengers and we met people from all over the globe of all ages. If you are looking for great value, tons of stops and exceptional service with all of the basics met than this is a perfect choice!

Pros: Service, size of cabin, and number of stops.

Cons: Food, entertainment and similarity of bus tours offered.

Recommends Carnival Valor? Yes!

Ship Quality
I travel with a portable oxygen concentrator and had no problems at all on this ship! Plenty of elevators, easy to move around and even in the outdoor spaces was able to get around. Crews are constantly cleaning and maintaining ship so even though decor is slightly dated, everything is clean!
Food and Dining
Being a bit of a foodie I was expecting to find a wider gourmet selection but on this cruise line found that the food was average. Desserts were slightly below average. There were serveral options for each meal as well as traditional steak, chicken etc. offered at each meal. Didn't try any of the specialty restaurants so unsure as to how they were. We did anytime dining which worked out well for us.
Cabin / Stateroom
Decor slightly dated but clean! Room is slightly larger than we have had on other cruise lines and loved the number of closets and drawers. We were able to unpack everything and store our suitcases under the bed! We were in a balcony room and loved it! We chose a location towards the front and close to an elevator for ease of access for me and it was perfect! Easy to get to dining room, theater, casino, and gangway for each port. Bed was fantastic, slept like babies every night and no backaches in the mornings!
Service and Staff
Outstanding service! Hands down, this was the best service we have ever experienced on a cruise! Every single person that we interacted with was awesome! Almost like the staff has ESP and they anticipate what you need and/or want before you ask!
Entertainment
We did the evening shows and the singers and dancers were okay. We had a juggler, magician, and some comedians all of whom were adequate. The final night was a passenger talent show which was cute. Times were varied for shows. Found that the only activity that we ended up doing only once was the bingo. Price was very high and game was over within a few minutes! Some of the activities which had lower attendance were actually free and the most fun, trivia style games and a few games and contests out by the swimming pool area! many of these activities offered fun and prizes which were an added bonus!
