This is our 2nd time on Carnival Valor. I can definitely tell that they have improved on their customer service since we sailed last year. There was a definite emphasis on customer service. We stayed in a suite and the accommodations met our expectations. We tried the food in all the different areas and noticed an improvement in the quality of the food. The entertainment was good. Overall, it is a nice cruise for the money.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We ate in all the dining options. We did not have to wait in any lines during the buffet. Our only complaint would be about the Steakhouse. The food was excellent. The service starts out excellent. As out meal progressed and the restaurant filled, our service became almost non-existent. We actually had better service in the Lincoln Dining Room. We did anytime dining and never had to wait for a table.

Entertainment

Schedule is more for people who like to stay up late and sleep in. The shows sometimes were a little too late in the evening. The shows were good.

Service and Staff

Noticed that there was more of an effort to call you by name and greet you. Big improvement from last year.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Overall the ship was very clean. The common areas were clean. We noticed that at one port they were replacing some of the fixtures, mattress, etc in some of the staterooms. We constantly saw them cleaning the ship. It has held up very well for its age.

Cabin / Stateroom

We had a suite on the Empress Deck. The suite was spacious with lots of storage. The balcony is large enough to move around and not feel too crowded. Our room steward did a good job on keeping our room stocked with ice and clean.

Pros: Balcony

Cons: Steakhouse
