A great Trip

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Suite

The ship, in our opinion was hard to navigate...you had to figure out to go right or left out of your room to get to the side of teh ship you wanted. To get to most, you had to take the prominade deck that went right through the smokey casino. We dont gamble, but if we did, I wouldnt want to smell like smoke. The captain and staff were excellent and we had an amergency evacuation which we think was done very well and handled well from our observation. Celings on this boat felt very low to me...other than the lobby area.

Pros: Room, service, itinerary

Cons: entertainment, hard to navigate ship, anytime dining

Recommends Carnival Valor? Yes!

Entertainment
This is one area carnival could improve on. Our last cruise was on celebrity and the entertainment was wonderful every night. This boat only had a couple of shows and we heard one couple say they had sailed on this boat three years earlier and it was the exact same entertainment.
Ship Quality
Layout strange...hard to navigate but loved our room and the service was excellent.
Food and Dining
Food had ups and downs..the steakhouse on board was excellent however. Some of the food in the dining room was just ok. other nights its was wonderful, just not consistent. We would not recommend anytime dining. ONe night during formal night, we showed up for dinner and had to wait over an hour and a half to sit down..missed the entertainment that night, the one of only a couple of shows because we were not seated for dinner.
Cabin / Stateroom
STateroom, we had a suite was wonderful and we never knew if when the steward came in.
Service and Staff
STaff were all very nice and remembered our names.
