We opted to try carnival this year as opposed to celebrity- which we really enjoyed last year to save some money... you get what you pay for, carnival is in the walmarts of cruises categories so we expected the food, entertainment, quality etc to be less than that of the celebrity cruise we took last year, and it was. Although we made the best of it, the food was mediocre at best, they didn't have any liquor plan-drinks averaged $7, and the entertainment was the same everyday. We had fun on this trip but will definitely spend the extra money on a higher end cruiseline in the future!

Food and Dining

it was really hard to find food I liked there, even at the dinners... lines were generally long and disorganized- somebody please explain to me why you get your condiments (mushrooms, onions, cheese, etc) at the beginning of the burger line and the burger at the end? it's even funner if you get a chili cheese dog! Plus no liquor plans! spend the extra $ for celebrity, you won't regret it!

don't waste your time getting off the ship unless you want to sit at the cruiselines private beach- it was an ok beach, but there was NOTHING else to do in the cruiselines private port.

jetski tour of stingray beach, starfish point, rum cake factory, turtle farm, HELL, we had a blast!
Don't Miss: stingrays

shopping in Cozumels ports was ridiculously compareds to other parts of Mexico we've been- about 3 times higher! We had fun hanging out at Margaritaville- of course not any cheaper but highly entertaining!

Pros: one of the cheapest cruises you can find

Cons: food and entertainment was mediocre

Recommends Carnival Valor? No.
