2nd time on this ship. Food quality has lessened since last year on Carnival ships. They charge for drinks at the Captain's Cocktail Party and discount them by $1.00. This used to be free. The cost of bingo is too high and the payouts are very low.
Wait staff and cabin steward did a great job, as did those servers at the 9th floor buffets. Maitre'D gave a great introduction before the tour of the galley.

Pros: 2 new ports of call; Punchline Comedy Club

Cons: waiting over 30 minutes for a tender at Half Moon Cay to return to ship

Recommends Carnival Valor? Yes!

Entertainment
Show was a repeat from six years ago when we first sailed on the Valor. Female singer was great. Some dance routines were too goofy.
Food and Dining
Desserts are always better at the lunch and dinner buffets than those offered in the dining room.
Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
Service and Staff
Grand Turk Island
loved the beaches and cleanliness. Lots of lounge chairs for everyone and best of all it is free. Pretty stores, clean bathrooms. Negative was the rocks and caverns on the ocean floor. Very risky walking and entering the ocean.
Don't Miss: swimming
San Juan, Puerto Rico
too hot to explore without a tour.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
cost to go to Megan's bay and sapphire beach is too expensive. $8.00 + each way per person. plus cost of $4.00 per person at Megan's Bay. Five of us spent $120 to go to the beach for less than two years. There must be a cheaper way.
Don't Miss: shopping; Sapphire beach
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)
beach was beautiful and free. Tender back to ship had over a 30 minute wait.
