A so-so cruise

Sail Date: June 12, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Ship and cabin were quite nice and clean; and staff were friendly and helpful.

Pros: Cabin was very good; entertainment was also very good.

Cons: Food was marginal (not very good); excursions (2 of the 4 we took) were not worth the cost.

Recommends Carnival Valor? Yes!

Our excursion included 2 unnecessary stops (one at a "Mayan" house, where the guide was hawking black coral products. Another was at a beach, where things were for sale. The penultimate stop was at a so-called tequila factory, where we didn't learn anything about "making" tequila but we did get a sales spiel on buying their local product.
Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
This was a "total" waste of time and the tour guide was just "awful". I think we each paid $57.95 for this tour--it wasn't even worth half that.
Belize City, Belize
The "ruins" were excellent.
