Excellent Vacation

Sail Date: June 01, 2010

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

I was pleasantly surprised by Carnival. Having traveled on Princess and Royal Caribean, I found it to be comparable except it had lots more activities geared toward young adults. This is a positive if traveling with children of any age. Our "kids" are 24,22,18 and they had a great time and so did we.
Cayman-Reef and Rays-booked with Carnival and worthwhile.
Isle of Roatan, Honduras- Victor Bodden Tour-Zip and Dip highly recommended ( not a carnival tour). This was our favorite shore excursion.
Belize- Goff Cay Snorkeling-booked with carnival and would recommend. Probably not the port to venture off on your own.
Cozumel: went to beach, snorkeling, parasailing, with Alfredo Camacho, our van driver. Contact at camacho_alfredo@hotmail.com
He's an excellent guide and it's less costly than carnival excursion.
Would travel again on Carnival anytime !

Pros: Great Service, Enthusiastic Entertainers, Courteous staff

Cons: Had to come back to reality

Recommends Carnival Valor? Yes!

Children's Programs
Our kids are 24,22,18 so they enjoyed themselves immensely as this cruise has lots of young people.
Ship Quality
The ship and our room was always kept very clean.
Food and Dining
Many dining options. We had late seating in the Lincoln Restaurant and enjoyed great company at dinner and oustanding waiters and cuisine.
Cabin / Stateroom
Stateroom was constantly kept clean with fresh linens and towels.
Service and Staff
Every staff person I encountered was friendly and helpful.
Entertainment
Enthusiastic singers and dancers, a variety of shows, always something going on.
