Lots to be thankful for

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

We were cruising Thanksgiving week, and what a way to spend the holiday! Valor is a huge ship, but we still found lots of personalized service and suprisingly few crowds. Carnival is a great line for a family trip, with lots to do to entertain all ages. Embarkation was an amazingly smooth process. We were on the ship less than 45 minutes from arriving at the port...we waited longer to pay for parking than to go through security or check in on the ship! Debarkation, on the other hand....don't be in a hurry!

Pros: itinerary, embarkation, overall cruise experience

Cons: dining room service at breakfast and lunch, debarkation in Miami

Recommends Carnival Valor? Yes!

Nassau, Bahamas
Very tourist based area.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Nice beach just a water taxi ride from the cruise dock. Everything in Marigot is quite expensive.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Went scuba diving in the discover diving program, program was not very organized.

The Virgin Islands are amazing. Find a way to enjoy the water, whether you dive, snorkel, boat or just go to the beach. We participated in a "Discover Diving" program for those not certified to dive, and I highly recommend it.
Don't Miss: Water activities!
Nassau, Bahamas
Not the cleanest or best of the ports.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Very friendly people, nice beaches.
