Not What We Had Hoped For......

Sail Date: July 01, 2007

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Balcony

This was our first 7-day cruise. The decor of the ship was very nice, and fitting for our 4th of July travel date. The theme of "Heroes" went very well with the Patriotic activities of the week.

Pros: The entertainment staff and cruise director

Cons: The food

Recommends Carnival Valor? No.

Shopping Mecca of the world. Watch out for the people trying to lure you into shops with astronomical prices! We enjoyed Paradise Point and the skyride and then went to the beach.
Don't Miss: Paradise Point looking down on the ships in port.
Nassau, Bahamas
Our 2nd time to Nassau, this time we left the kids on the ship, steered clear of the straw market and went on a walk (unguided) to see some sites. The experience was much better this way. We lunched at Senor Frog's - a great tourist-y spot.

We went on the Best of St. Maarten tour in order to see both the Dutch and the French side. Our tour guide was humorous and helpful. They brought us to Boo-Boo-Jam beach at Oriente Bay and it was beautiful.
Don't Miss: The Public Beach right along side the water taxi was the most fun for the kids.
