Sail Date: March 01, 2010 Ship: Carnival Valor Cabin Type: Balcony Traveled As: Singles/Friends Reviewed: 8 years ago
This was our first cruise and our expectations must have been set very high from reading different reviews online, etc. The ports of call were great as was the attentiveness of the staff etc.
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
We didn't enjoy the food on the cruise at all. The only time we had hot food was when we went to the Hamburger line and got a fresh hamburger or cheeseburger. The hot food in the buffet line wasn't hot and the cold food there wasn't cold. They had a burrito bar available along with Pizza, Asian, Deli and Scarlett's Steakhouse that you had to pay $30 extra for and it sure wasn't worth it. Food wasn't good or hot. You were also assigned seating in a dining room and it was so so.

We didn't like the entertainment of the shows at all. There seemed to always be something to do if you just looked at what was offered.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff was very attentive and very friendly. If you needed anything all you had to do was ask. Our cabin steward Denny was great.

The ship size was fine and was very clean. We had cabin 1066 on the Panorama Deck and it was very accessible to most everything as it was right around the corner from the elevators and the door to the Lido deck.
Cabin / Stateroom

We had cabin 1066 on the Panorama Deck and it was a GREAT location as right around the corner from the elevator and the door to the Lido deck was also right around the corner. Size of the cabin was great. A powerstrip will come in handy if charging camera or batteries. You don't need to bring shampoo or conditioner as it is provided.
