good cruise

Sail Date: March 01, 2010

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Inside

Sailed March 14th to western Carribean. It began as a disaster because of airport problems and our plan was grounded. Thus missing the boat. They were unable to wait. But caught up with them at next port.

Pros: the pampering of the crew

Cons: alot of extra costs not included

Recommends Carnival Valor? Yes!

Food and Dining
Dining room food was excellent. The buffet style restaurant "Rosies" was ok but needed more variety. Only scrambled eggs at breakfast.
Not bad. There was always something to do. The entertainment is pretty much the same as other carnival cruises. Plan to spend extra money on some of the entertainment. My son wanted to play lazer tag but it cost extra.
Children's Programs
Children's program a bit boring. Should have a swimming pool designed to the program. Lots of arts and crafts if that is what your child likes. Took good care of the children. They knew everyone by name (and there were 1300 children on board)
Ship Quality
Great size. Layout was ackward. Very clean but decore seemed outdated.
Cabin / Stateroom
Rooms small but workable for a small young family. Bigger families would need two rooms. Stateroom always clean and ready.
Service and Staff
Very good. Always there to help out.
