Valor cruise

Sail Date: September 10, 2006

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Overall this was a wonderful cruise. The ship was nicely decorated and very clean. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't care for the comedian during the nightly entertainment, but the singers were great. We also didn't care for St Maarten as a port of call. It wasn't as nice as St Thomas and the locals were rude. It would have also been better to not have two consecutive days at sea. The embarkation process was smooth, and the self-assist debarkation process was excellent. We will be back on Carnival again.

Pros: Friendly staff and cleanliness of the entire ship

Cons: Nightly entertainment

Food and Dining
Rosie's restaurant was our favorite. We weren't very pleased with the main dining room food selection.
Entertainment
Not much of the entertainment and activities appealed to us. We would prefer more of the shows/singers to the comedian.
Ship Quality
The Valor was a wonderful ship
Cabin / Stateroom
We were very pleased with the balcony stateroom.
Service and Staff
The staff was great, especially the lady in the Formalities shop! The bar servers on the Lido deck were also excellent. We were also pleased with the service that we received in the spa/beauty shop.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
There were so many things to do and see at this port, especially the shopping. The people were friendly and the food was good too.
Don't Miss: Catamaran sunset sail. Amici restaurant had very good food.
Nassau, Bahamas
We didn't get much of an opportunity to see Nassau because we were on the shore excursion the entire time. We took the Pearl Island snorkeling & treasure hunt excursion. It was set up nicely and there were many things to do at this one place.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten
This port was excellent only because of the Safari Dive excursion. Otherwise we would have rather not stopped here. The shopping was not a good experience and the locals that met us at the dock were rude and pushy.
