Good Cruise, but bring ear protection
Carnival Valor Cruise Review to Caribbean - Eastern
Sail Date: September 10, 2006
Ship: Carnival Valor
Cabin Type: Oceanview
Traveled As: Family (older children)
Reviewed: 7 years ago
Review SummaryWe were on the ship in less than 1/2 hour and got our bags at around 3:30, lines were fast and everyone was efficient. Unfortunatly leaving the ship was our slowest experience, through no fault of Carnival. They lost power in terminal for about 45 min, so customs lines were very slow. Carnival personal were very helpful during this mini disaster.
This is our first Carnival Cruise since 1987, we've done over 30, mostly NCL with a few Princess thrown in. We will not wait another 19 years for our next Carnival:) In fact a friend's sister works for Carnival, I'm going to try to get adopted:)
Food and Dining
Other inside activities compared to Princess or recent NCL trips were poorly done. That has to fall at the feet of the worst cruise director we have had in 30 cruises.
Service and Staff
Decor theme a bit strange, but never tasteless.
Cabin / Stateroom
Pros: Great cabin, friendly staff, very good food overall
Cons: Painfully loud sound spoiled most shows, worst cruise director ever:(
