The ship was terrific. The only thing it was missing that we could not find was a chapel. But, the ship was wonderful. I highly recommend the Valor for cruising. It was a terrific vacation.

Food and Dining

It seems as though from our last cruise, they cut back on the variety of menu items and the exotic items on the menu. We were just alittle disappointed. And, by the time 11:00 om came around when we were hungry, they cut out the midnight buffet, so we were hungry and so we had to have a sandwich, pizza or ice cream which is good for kids, but we wanted something alittle nicer. Other than that, they quality of the food was good. Every morning the breakfast was the same, so we were used to more varity and choices for breakfast. But, we are experiences cruisers, so we had something to compare to. First time cruisers would not see a difference.

Entertainment

Super entertainment. Always something to do. Great shows nightly. The casino pay outs were not good.

Service and Staff

Our assistant houseperson called up by name. He was friendly and made eye contact and chatted with us everytime he saw us. He checked to be sure we did not need anything. Very attentive to service. Wonderful.

We were diverted from Cozumel to Key West due to the Swine Flu. A small disappointment for us who lived in Florida for 14 years and have visited Key West yeearly for 14 years. S, we've been there, done that. I wish they would have diverted us to someplace else. Key West is great, but we have been there so many times, that it was just a repeat visit for us.
Don't Miss: Duval Street, The Southern Most Point of the USA, Conch Fritters and Key Lime Pie, and Mallory Square.

A small disappointment. Very third world and poor areas. We went to the Mayan Ruins. which was an hour bus ride. Would have enjoyed the beaches/islands better. After visiting, we probably would not go back.
Don't Miss: The designer purses that are for sale at the port stores. They are half the price than here at home. Coach, Guess, Dulche & Gabanna, Dior, Louis Vitton, etc...

What a wonderful surprise - Roatan. Very poor area, but the tour to Tabyana Beach was wonderful. Recommend taking the tour since the beach is far away and safer maybe. The beach was one of the top 3 prettiest beaches I have seen. Definately a highlight and favorite moment from our trip. Loved the beach and snorkeling.
Don't Miss: Tabyana Beach (snorkeling).

Wonderful snorkeling at Cemetary Beach. I recommend taking the local bus for $2.50 per person each way from the port instead of the tour.
Don't Miss: Smorkeling at Cemetary Beach - Less crowded than 7-mile Beach and it has shade from trees.

Pros: The service was outstanding.

Cons: The unorganized disembarkation process to get off the ship at the ports of call.

Recommends Carnival Valor? Yes!
