Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Balcony

the ship was clean and decorated nice it was weird having to cut through the Lincoln to go to the other decks the flow was poorly designed here

Pros: the food in the buffet

Cons: the food in the formal dining room

Recommends Carnival Valor? No.

Ship Quality
poor flow to the decks when you had to go through the Lincoln dining room to get to the other decks
Food and Dining
The Washington Dining room 6 o'clock seating was very poor. The portions were tiny the vegetables were no where to be seen only a small salad. The presentation was poor I could do a better job and I hate to cook. I knew we were in trouble when I saw mac & cheese on the formal diningroom menu and it was served in a little tiny cup that you would get from AppleBee's Rest. or Cracker Barrel's Rest. with salad dressing in it. We tried 3 nights in the fromal dining room and then went to the buffet. We have gone on Costa Classica, Royal Carribean Splendor of the Seas, to the Carribean and Princess to Alaska. The food and service and quality were exceptional. This was a special Christmas Cruise for our Son Brian who has fallen on hard times and we wanted this to be a special Event, it truly was not. It was so bad we will not take Carnival again. The worst part was that our friends the Deromes and their party of 4 other people had taken this trip May 2008 and raved about it.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our room 8423 on The Valor 8th deck The room was clean roomy comfortable bed large shower great to have a balcony because we took our son with us who smokes and 2 people could sit on the balcony while someone else was getting dresses and there would e ample room
Service and Staff
everyone was friendly and helpful
the slide by the pool was great the shuffle board equipment needs to be replaced
