Had a great time!

Sail Date: July 06, 2008

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

The ship, the Carnival Valour, was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the options of different activities and the ability to relax and do nothing also. Overall, the food was good, but less than the "amazing" that I heard everyone say that it would be. We're young professionals and there weren't a lot of activities oriented towards our age group, so we hung out and gambled a lot. The entertainment was entertaining, more so the comedians and other acts, than so the on-board entertainment staff. Be prepared to spend money once on board as drinks and entertainment are not always free, but they are reasonably priced.

Pros: Very relaxing, lots of options for activities or to do nothing at all.

Cons: The food was average and in the evening there wasn't a lot of structured events.

Recommends Carnival Valor? Yes!

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
A beautiful island with gorgeous beaches. We rented a scooter and drove all over. There's an interesting mix of native cultural things to see (not really do) and resorts.
Belize City, Belize
Belize, as a country, is beautiful, but its still got a few years to develop as a real tourist country. We enjoyed our visit there but the main things to do are within the tourist port. Our tour drove us through the residential area which was still poverty-stricken, and although interesting to see, it felt odd to be "touring" that particular area, as if it were a zoo. My impression was that the tour guide wanted us to see what Belize is really like.
Cozumel, Mexico
Cozumel is a gorgeous area with beaches and lots to do. We also went to Tulum on the mainland; a great excursion but it was more like 9 hours and not the stated 7, so our time in Cozumel was limited. We'll come back to this area for our next Caribbean visit.
George Town, Grand Cayman
Unless you are shopping for jewelry, go on an excursion in Grand Cayman as there is really nothing else to do in this small banking town.
