Fantastic Caribbean Cruise

Sail Date: June 01, 2008

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Inside

We truly enjoyed our week aboard the Valor. The ship was very clean and the crew was very attentive. The variety of food was amazing! Our entire family of 6 had a wonderful trip!

Pros: The food was truly wonderful -- loved the sushi bar before dinner. The activities were fun. The service was great.

Cons: Any events scheduled in the Winston Cigar Bar were "off" our list due to the amount of smoke in the room. We missed out on high tea & classical music as well as live jazz due to the choking amount of smoke!

We sailed with all four of our children 12 - 19 and they had a blast. They made a bunch of friends and enjoyed the games & activities.

We didn't have much time. You are forced through a building that has a lot of market stalls and vendors in order to get out into the city. You are bombarded with people hoping to make a sale before you even get into Nassau. However, on the streets, shopping was easily located and walking was good, no extra transportation is needed.

Great shopping! Walking around the Dutch side shopping is preferred. Hiring a local cab saved our family of six over $100 over the shore excursion price offered on-board. Our driver took us around the entire island, stopped for us to shop and directed us to a wonderful lunch before returning us to our ship. He drove six of us in an air-conditioned mini van for 3 hrs. and charged us only $120! And we got to hear local info. and history from a local person as well as do and see exactly what we wanted without any other person's schedule.

Plenty of shopping right by the ship! Great prices! The best snorkeling in the Eastern Caribbean.
