Sail Date: July 01, 2007 Ship: Carnival Valor Cabin Type: Balcony Traveled As: Couple Reviewed: 10 years ago
The ship was absolutely gorgeous! I think the Carnival Valor does need a better variety of things to do. It seems all areas on the ship are just bars. In the afternoon, we always laughed because there was only 2 choices: gamble or drink. There was absolutely nothing else to do!! The buffets at lunch were great, never had that long of a wait. The only bad thing is there was NEVER a place to sit. You have the choice to wait until everyone clears, or take your food to your room, as many people had to do. The cruise director, Chris was great! Every night we could watch him on our tv and find out exactly what was going on. He was very informative! He explained exactly what would be happening the next day, with all instructions if we were getting off the ship that day. We would have been lost if not for all of his helpful information, and he was VERY funny.
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food was great, with alot of varieties! Our waiter for the dining room was HORRIBLE!! We had to try several times just to get his attention if we needed anything. Most of the time we finally got the attention of his assistant. The other tables he had were very large, so it felt like he gave them all of his attention, with us having to wait. We got so aggarvated 2 nights, we just got up and walked out. He never got the point because he never did any better.

The ship could have used more activities, but the ones they did have were EXCELLENT!!
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
Staff was horrible!! When we called our room steward, he never came right away. We had to wait at least 1 hour or more. Had to call 2 times to ask him just to unlock our refigerator to get a soda! None of the staff acted as if they were happy to be there, or that we were there.

Ship was very clean!! Every time you go somewhere, the staff is all over the ship cleaning!
Cabin / Stateroom
