Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Well I have never been on a cruise and will probably never go again. The entertainment was hit and miss. The food was miss or miss. They call it a fun ship but to me it did not live up to the moniker.

Pros: Piano bar was fun. Stewards were good.

Cons: Entertainment was hit and miss, Food was mediocre at best. Some of the tours were a bit overpriced

Recommends Carnival Valor? No.

Food and Dining
There was a lot of food, not much good food but there was a lot of food. If the ship was a restaurant I would not go back.
Cabin / Stateroom
Everything about the stateroom was good except for the location. Our window faced a deck so we would have random people walking by our window every so often. Not much of a view of the ocean from our room.
Entertainment
Most of the entertainment was in the average column. Though the piano bar was exceptional. The person who dragged it down was a comedian Jim Brick. He was ill chosen for the entertainment.
Service and Staff
Service was okay, it was on par with a resort.
Ship Quality
The American theme was nice, but the artwork was much to be desired.
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
Costa Maya was okay. The tourist mall was a little bigger than other places. The Mayan ruins are a must see if you are here.
Don't Miss: Mayan ruins tour.
Belize City, Belize
I did not like the fact that if you walked outside the shopping mall you are rushed by 10 or 12 people who want to sell you cab rides, and some of the people there are very aggressive in there sales tactics. I would not recommend Belize as a stop.
George Town, Grand Cayman
We went on the kayak and snorkeling tour which was fun.
