Great Trip

Room Type: Balcony

This was our 8th cruise - the 5th with Carnival. Many people assume that Carnival is for only the younger crowd only. It's not. There are many young families, many 30-40-somethings & many our age - the over 50 year olds. The Valor is an excellent ship - with more balconies than any other ship we have been on. We were on the Lido Deck & had a blast. The entertainment shows are excellent. The costumes are colorful & fresh looking. This was the best ship ever for us.
One complaint for . We were a group of 4 couples travelling together. I asked several times to make sure we were booked as a group. We found out when we got to ship that our dining tables were all separate. We had to talk to the Maitre D to get a table together & it did work out.

Pros: Our balcony cabin on the Lido Deck.

Cons: Not be able to take our cabin steward home!

Recommends Carnival Valor? Yes!

Ship Quality
You would not believe that there were 3,000 guests onboard. The public rooms were not crowded.
Food and Dining
The quality of the food was the best ever, for us. Several nights, my husband had 2 entrees & the waiter never batted an eye! The buffets were excellent - especially the chocolate day!
Cabin / Stateroom
Stateroom was large & love the balcony. All the Carnival ships that we have been on seem to have orange decor in the cabins. Would be nice to see another color sometime.
Service and Staff
The bartenders knew our drink preferences by the 2nd day!
Best that we have seen. The comedians were great.
Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
We did the ship shore excursion - Monkeys, Birds & Pirates. Enjoyed the monkeys & birds. The "pirates" part was a joke. Was interesting to learn the history of the island.
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
We took the ship shore excursion for the Mayan Ruins. Enjoyed that. The cruise port shops were good.
Belize City, Belize
We took a "city tour" from a vendor at the pier at $20/person. There's not much to the "city" of Belize.
Don't Miss: "Made in Belize" store at the pier. Excellent wood products.
George Town, Grand Cayman
