Despite the complaints I made above, the cruise went well. My kids had a blast and didn't want it to end and that was want we wanted. That showed us that they had a wonderful time. We do plan to take another one within the next year and when we do we will be sure to keep in mind the things I mentioned above regarding the activities available for our children.
Embarkation

Upon checking in I requested to remove my card from the booking and apply a cash deposit instead. The representative who was helping me told me that I would need to leave my card on there and that I could add cash still and that when I spend on-board that the on-board credit would be used first, then the cash and should we use all that then it would debit from our card. I was completely aware of the order, but I did not want the hold placed on my card and wanted to apply cash instead. I was about to walk away after the completion of our check in and when the representative asked a supervisor about it. The supervisor informed her yes we could do that and all she needed to do was to deactivate our card. The representative said "oh, you should have told me you wanted to deactivate your card". I thought that when I said I wanted to remove my card that it meant the same thing. However, the rep. still didn't know how to do that, so I am under the impression that what she said initially that I couldn't remove it was what she knew. Because this happened it took longer to check in and we were separated from our group when boarding and had to board with another group because our group seating area was full.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

I enjoyed the food in the beginning. But the last day at sea and breakfast on debarkation day were little to be desired, Not very good selections in comparison to previous days.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
This was our first cruise with our children. They had an absolute blast! We did learn that the Triumph being a smaller boat that the activity areas are much smaller, such as the basketball court. The pools were smaller and not very kid friendly. So our next family cruise we will seek to go on a larger boat with more activity options for them.
Entertainment

My 15yr old attended the Magic show with us, he has recently developed a hobby in slide of hand card tricks. Following the show he loved that the Magic Show Performer Mark Henry took pictures with the audience if they wanted to. My son went up there and the magician noticed that he had cards and asked him if he knew how to do anything. So my son did a card trick for him. I loved that he encouraged him to continue with his love of learning magic and he will do well.
Children's Programs

I absolutely loved the Dr. Seuss theme on the boat for the kids. My 2 littles (3 & 5) had such a wonderful time. They loved Camp Ocean and the staff there. They were all wonderful! Our 3 older ones loved the camp clubs for them as well. I loved the orientation that they did where they had a chance to actually meet other kids their age and do ice breakers on the boat. And the scavenger hunts they did to interact with the adults on the boat to make it fun were a great idea as well.
Service and Staff

We absolutely loved our stateroom attendant, Blessing! He went above and beyond and listened. My name is Cassandra and that is what I introduce myself as. However, growing up as a child to my teenage years I went by Cassie. So my family calls me that. He heard them call me that by that name and started calling me that. Which I was completely fine with, but what I liked was that he paid attention and listened.

Cabin / Stateroom

Very impressed with the size of our room. The last cruise we took on Carnival we had an Ocean view room and I fully expected the interior room to be smaller (not sure why, but I did).
Ship tip
Great first cruise ship or short sail date ship (3-5). I would not want to be on a 7-9 day cruise on it as it is smaller.
We did not do an excurion, but we took public transportation into Merida. It was a lengthy drive and we didn't have much time to check out the sites there. However we have discussed going back when we can spend a couple days there.
