Older ship, food not so great, service not so great

Room Type: Balcony

This cruise was for our 1 year anniversary. For our honey moon we went on Royal Carribean Freedom of the seas. The food was amazing, the service was impeccable, and the activities were AMAZING! So we were kind of expecting the same thing. For a first time cruise we probably would have been more content. The food was O K. Not great but not bad. The service was O K. Our gentleman didn't introduce himself until day 2 and he still didn't clean our room until day 3 after asking. There was a smell of "poop" in our room and parts of the ship and my balcony smelled like urine. The people working there seemed to be very unhappy. The Airconditioner in the room worked on either on or off. That sucked bc it left us cold or hot. No in between.

There was a few perks, due to the size of the ship getting off was a breeze. There were no long lines. They had last minute excursions very inexpensive. We participated in 1 in Progresso. It sucked however we were gonna stay on the boat so the experience was worth it but only if you have absolutely nothing else to do.

Cabin / Stateroom
It wasn't as roomy as we had expected, the balcony smelled like urine, the tv was infant size. But it was clean. We found other people's belongings under the bed but was ok.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
The Disembarkation was great! The captain dismissed in groups so you were able to relax around before you left. Embarkation was not bad either. We were told to be there at 11:15 check in was at 11:30. We were on the boat by 12:30.. The board the ship by sections. It wasn't terrible
Ship Quality
Destinations and Excursions
We only went to 2 places, our first stop was in conzumel. Conzumel is beautiful and no excursions are really needed but we did the 3 reef snorkeling and it was nice! 2nd excursion was in Progresso. We went to the city. Not so great. They drop you off, give you 2 hours and tell you to stay on these two steets that a swarming with locals who want to sell you something. The shops are ok. And there was so little to see. The experience made this one.
