Review summary

My first ever cruise experience was very good to excellent.  On the upside - the ship (Triumph), service , amenities and on-board activities were first-rate.  The food was generally very good and plentiful.  The cost of drinks wasn't too burdensome and the entertainment was very, very good.  The excursions in Progresso and Cozumel were informative and fun..  On the down-side - I was surprised by smoking being allowed in the ship's casino, in addition to a designated areas outside on the deck(s).  I was also surprised by the amount of unsupervised children in all the pools and hot-tubs - to the extent that they made adult use uncomfortable.

Susjawana, Didi and Joshua made eating in the formal dining area an outstanding experience and Gusti kept the cabin in the highest level of cleanliness.  In addition, his towel art was highly regarded.

The adult comedy shows were great.  Of special note what the Lighting Technician's stories in the Liar's show.  I forget his name; but he was outstanding.

In Progresso (Mayan), - the Dzibilchaltun Ruins with the Mexican Rodeo and Buffet was very enjoyable.  The air-conditioned bus, easy walking tour, sights and sounds and information by Maria (Mary); the singing, dancing, equestrian and roping exhibitions were highly memorable and first-rate and the buffet was exceptional.

In Cozumel, the Jose Cuervo tour (The Tequila Experience) conducted by Martin was superb.  The experience was highly enjoyable and informative.

I highly recommend both excursions.

The kids on the same cruise as mentioned weren't bad. I think I found the ones that their parents just let them loose. No running, acting up, or anything. Hope you have a good time & get to unwind :-)

I sure hope there are not a lot of kids running around! I have owned a large childcare center for 31 years and this trip is for stress relief. The comments about un-attended children concerns me. Also the children not unattended I hope the parents make them respect others and don't let them act wild.

The adult pool (only) is on the other side for adults to use. You shouldn't complained if the kids in the pool ( where they have a right to use the pool with adults) .

I don't understand why some parents feel like a cruise ship equals free babysitting. Just because your brats can't leave the ship (though stuff happens even on that account) doesn't mean that bad things can't happen to them.

I'm with y'all too about the unsupervised kids. Last cruise we went on, 2 little girls came crying to us asking to help find their dad. I directed them to the bartender (not getting involved in that drama). Their dad finally came to the Lido deck, super drunk, & was screaming at them. I don't deal with drunk screamers.

I totally agree with you on the unattended children in the swimming pool and hot tub. I let them know that in the survey I filled out.
