Nice trip, nice ship

Sail Date: July 09, 2015

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Inside

First off, travelling thru Houston to reach Galveston is a huge pain in the rear compared to leaving from Florida ports. The trip is time consuming and all methods to get to the port are costly very costly, cheapest being the 45 per person charter. Will hopefully never have to do again.

Great fun and clean ship, most Carnival employees go above and beyond. Don't mind the upselling as they have to do what they can to make money but I avoid that stuff anyway.

Destinations and Excursions
Dolphin excursion was good but too much of a trap for the upsell of very, very expensive photos which I opted out of after trying to negotiate down. Also, description a bit misleading. Travelled with my 4 year old daughter and signed up for swim. When we arrived at departure we were told it would have to be downgraded and refunded to Dolphin Interaction without buffet. Alcohol was extra which it did not appear to be from description, misleading. I got refunded and booked the buffet and upgrade to unlimited alcohol which came to the same price of original booking. Food, service, pool, free sea lion show and drinks were awesome!
Ship Quality
Embarkation and Disembarkation
A bit unfriendly disembarkation from Carnival, somewhat condescending after we relayed we needed urgent early departure. As we are not platinum we had to wait around half an hour extra and therefore missed flight out, thanks Carnival! Need better communication there.
Cabin / Stateroom
Perfect location, great service

Tip

Pizza was super and so were the burritos and tacos.
