We went as a group of Girls for my Mother's Birthday. One of the things you look forward to on a cruise is all the food. We were not impressed with the food at the buffet (The Grill) and/or at the dining area. The Deli was pretty good, never got to try the pizza, and Chopsticks was so so. The only thing we WERE impressed with was the hamburgers, they were AWESOME!!! If you have kids or are a vegetarian you will have issues trying to find something to eat. Hamburgers, hotdogs, and pizza is about all there is for the kids and very little vegetables. I do not think my Spouse or kids would have enjoyed this cruise due to the food choices. I would suggest that you NOT get a stateroom on floor 1. There are banging/loud noises below you and at our stateroom (1287) we heard a banging/rattling nois outside of the boat by our window the whole time (especially at night). It sounds like a hatch door or something is not latched good. Someone burned something or caught something on fire near our stateroom, we had to smell that for a couple of days until we returned back to our home port.
The Buggy Excursion at Cozumel is a little challenging if you are not experienced in driving a standard. The gears are hard to shift and seemed to be stripped out. You basically make a big circle around the island. The beaches are very pretty. The stop you make at the beach for snorkeling was ok and snorkeling was ok, not a lot of reef to see, but a little mixture of colorful fish. You do have to swim a little bit of a distance, so be prepared for that. The tour guide name Nacho was a really great guy. He helped a lot with anyone who couldn't swim very well. You travel on to another beach that has really strong waves and windy. It was under red flag warnings when we were there so you really can't get in the water. The Mexican food buffet was pretty good. The Nacho Cheese with chips "not so much".
The DJ on the ship was GREAT, if they would only let her play more often. The singers and other music playing on the deck was ok, but not near as good as the DJ. She rocked the boat and had the crowd jumping! They should really plan more activities on the Lido Deck around the pool area. That is where everyone is congregated. There is sooooo much more they could in that area. There is an AWESOME live band located on DECK 5 next to the casino. I think they only play in the evenings and they can play just about any request you have. They were really good, had everyone dancing and singing!
The photo set ups all over Deck 5 have gotten crazy. They take up way too much space and prices are high to me. I think it is getting worse every time we go.
Be prepared to spend a fortune on bar drinks, soft drinks, photos, and all the extras on the boat.
We have decided to try a larger ship like the Magic or move over to the large ship at Royal Caribbean. We over heard lots of people saying how much better the food and activities were on the larger ships. We had fun no matter what, just could have been better in some areas. You just have to make the best out of what you have to work with. They did mention that 2 new Carnival ships were coming to Galveston and replacing 2 of the current ones. Maybe they will be better.

Get your deck chairs early or you won't have anywhere to sit. They should add deck chairs to the top Deck. There was absolutely nothing up there and would accommodate a lot people close to the music and pool area. The $20.00 extra charge for the steak and lobster in the dining room as worth it!
