A Great Vacation by Cruisin on Carnival

Sail Date: May 01, 2013

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Suite

The ship is very nice and comfortable. We paid the upgrade to a Suite for the first time\, as opposed to getting just a Balcony room to fit family of 4. We were very comfortable in the Suite. We enjoyed the Bingo games\, as we won $200 in one of the games (Yee-hah!!). We also enjoyed the buffet food and bars. Cozumel is very clean but very commercialized\, thus we can see why everyone likes it (very little bartering in prices). However\, Progresso\, Mexico can barter with prices a lot but the town is very dirty & filthy / stinky!! (not very commercialized and very picture of poor part of Mexico!)

Pros: Clean ship and facilities with friendly people operating the cruise

Cons: Progresso\, Mexico

Recommends Carnival Triumph? Yes!

Entertainment
We enjoyed the Bingo games and Casino activities. There were Shows that were also good.
Service and Staff
The staff on board were very friendly and helpful for any and all needs. We tipped them more than what was charged automatically to our bill\, since we thought they deserved more.
Cabin / Stateroom
The Suite rooms were ideal!! Large shower versus the Balcony walk-in shower. The room was cleaned every day!! We love the towel animals left when our beds were prepared for the evening.
Food and Dining
The buffet was good. We were expecting to have Crme Brulete for desert at Dinner\, but they stated only serving on 7-day cruises. However\, we requested it and they made it for us & served on the last dinner of the cruise (Yum-Yum Good!!!)
Ship Quality
The ship was very clean and well maintained. Pool areas can get crowded. No problem moving about the ship\, wherever you want to go!!
