Our family had a good time on the curise

Sail Date: April 01, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

While our family had a mostly positive experience, I don't know that Carnival will be my first choice for another cruise. I want to take another cruise at some point and see the difference.

Pros: The breakfast and dinners were very good. Winning $$$ at the casino was also a plus.

Cons: The emphasis on selling stuff that we did not want or need

Recommends Carnival Triumph? No.

Ship Quality
The ship appeared to be well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
The room accomodations were acceptable. Not luxurious but very functional.
Service and Staff
The room staff was very good to excellent as were the dining staff. Most of the ship staff were OK and helpful; however, others were less than helpful and seemed bothered by guests asking questions.
Entertainment
Some of the entertainment was very good and enjoyable. Overall, the activities appeared to be geared towards having guests spend money on merchandise that was not of very good quality at high prices.
Food and Dining
Overall, the dining experience for breakfast and dinner were great. The dining experience on the Lido deck - not so great.
