5 Night Western Caribbean (Galveston Roundtrip) Sail Date: April 14, 2012 Ship:Carnival Triumph Cabin Type: Balcony Traveled As: Couple Reviewed: 6 years ago
First off, our room stewards were the kindest people. Marko and Wayu always greeted us & took time to explain things to us. They took great care of our room. That was awesome. The entertainment on this ship was awesome. Jerry, the guitar player/singer was incredible. Russel Blues in the piano bar is extremely talented and a pleasure to sit and listen to for hours. The comedy shows on the ship were also awesome. Thank you Tim & JR. Tex, the cruise director & Stephanie, the assistant cruise director did an absolutely amazing job of keeping us laughing and entertained. They are very good at their jobs. This was our first cruise and other than some rough waters, it was an awesome vacation. We would take this cruise again in a heartbeat. We are not drinkers, but it didn't bother us to see all of those who do and there was a lot of that. We went as a couple and had an amazing time.
Food and Dining

The dining room food was usually amazing. We had lobster and shrimp on "elegant night" and it was amazing. The buffets are nice....there's always something to eat. Matre De was a grouchy guy.

There is SO much to do on this ship!!!!! We loved the entertainment. This is what separates a cruise ship from an all inclusive resort. There is always entertainment on this ship. The shows are awesome. The triumph band is awesome. Tex, Stephanie & their team are all amazing and fun!!!! The singers and dancers in the shows were amazing. Jerry, the singer & guitar player in the lobby is incredible and Russel in the piano bar is beyond talented. So many good things to say about the entertainment fun on this ship! This team is doing amazing things to make our trips incredibly enjoyable!!!!
Service and Staff

We only had awesome experiences with the employees. Well, the matre de isn't the friendliest, but other than that, everyone else was great. Although those cruise ship employees work so hard, you almost always see a smile on their faces. Amazing to me.

They do a great job of giving you a map of the ship and details of where each event will take place each day.
I believe this ship was added to the fleet in 1999. That being said, they have done an amazing job keeping the ship up. You would never know (except for the bathrooms in your room) that it was this old.

If you're like us, you wont' be in your room a lot so it doesn't really matter. The rooms are dated and a little small. This was our first cruise so we didn't really know what to expect. The room stewards Marko and Wayu made our room experience the best. They always had a smile on their face!!!!
Pros: Our room Steward Marko & Wayu & entertainment! Jerry and Russel were our favorites!
