Smoky miserable

Sail Date: November 17, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The port side of ship smelled like a locker room, but other side did not. Outside decks were clean and room was clean except for mildew in shower. Ship movement made some passengers sick but that did not bother us. Smoke from verandas and casino area wafted all over ship. Food average. Friendly service sporadic. Spent extra $ for veranda that we couldn't use because of smokers out on their verandas. Porter very nice as he told us people could smoke, If we had taken this cruise first, we would have never gone again. Another cruise we took on another line was wonderful.

Pros: The two shows were wonderfully done, and the salmon was delicious. Starboard decks forward were clean, smoke free, and beautiful.

Cons: Could not get away from smoke. Stabilizers did not work so chandeliers and lights in theatre were swinging. Couldn't use veranda because of smokers next to us. Couldn't open door without smoke filling room.

Recommends Carnival Triumph? No.
