5 Night Western Caribbean (New Orleans Roundtrip)
Sail Date: July 18, 2011
Ship: Carnival Triumph
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Couple

The boarding process wasn't great, but that is expected. The stateroom was incredible! The boat seemed very clean and there was plenty of staff for the number of people on board.

Food and Dining

The dining room meals were good, although not quite as good as what I had on Royal Caribbean. However the buffet lines were horrible!! During one excursion we had to be back on the ship at 4:30. At 5:00 there was still only 1 buffet line open with over 40 people standing in line.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The steward was incredible, the server in the dining room was awesome! The bartenders for the most part were indifferent, and at times downright rude.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very nice and always clean, but extremely confusing to navigate. The are certain areas that can't be reached without going to a different floor and then back again.

Cabin / Stateroom

I had a balcony room that was incredible!

I did the beach excursion in this port. It was nice, with free alcohol and food available for purchase. However, the port didn't offer much except the normal duty free touristy shops. You had to take a shuttle if you actually wanted to see the town.

Honestly, I didn't even see the town. But the SCUBA rocked!!! The best dive ever. The dive masters were extremely nice and knowledgeable.
Don't Miss: SCUBA!

Pros: The stateroom

Cons: The food service outside the dining room.

Recommends Carnival Triumph? Yes!
