Still in a tailspin

Room Type: Inside

The Triumph was "OK". Every now and then there would be this "God Awful Smell" that would take your breath away as you walked throughout the ship. The cabin bathrooms had a distinct foul odor. The public restrooms throughout the ship were pleasant smelling and I felt more comfortable using those than the smelly one in my cabin. The cabin bathrooms and other parts of the ship looked dated. The alcohol beverages were expensive (an average of $10.00 PER DRINK). Gratuity was charged on anything that you purchased from the bar. $50.00 gratuity was a bit much for the services of the waiters & housekeepers. (I dont feel that I received the services that would require this size tip) We had the $50.00 charge removed from our statement and did not feel obligated to pay it. Obviously our waiter found out that we had the $50.00 gratuity removed because he badgered us about it every night when we went to dinner. We enjoyed some of the entertainment on the ship but some of the entertainment was boring and redundant. The best part of the cruise was going to Mexico. However, I feel that Carnival should provide transportation to and from the port in Cozumel. We rented mopeds to sightsee and tour the island

Pros: Being in Mexico

Cons: Foul odor in bathrooms

Recommends Carnival Triumph? No.

We took our 15 year old daughter and her 2 friends. They seemed to really enjoy Club O2. They met a lot of people and they plan to keep in touch with their new found friends
