Overall a good experience but definitely was not wowed by the Triumph. We had a great time and met some terrific people. We missed a port call (Roatan) due to high winds which was terribly disappointing to us and everyone on-board.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
No specialty options on Triumph but we rarely take advantage of those anyway. Other than that we were very please with the food and service. We ate all dinners and most lunches in the dining room to avoid the crush at the buffet line. I will never understand why more people don't take that option.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiter, Alex, was excellent. He was outgoing, friendly, and entertaining. The cabin steward did his job unobtrusively and very well. The cruise director Tex was surprisingly low key and not very visible throughout the cruise. I found myself wanting a bit more fun. Activities on the lido deck were few and not very engaging.

Ship Quality

The layout of the ship is very strange. It is impossible to walk from one end to the other on any of the public area decks. You are constantly faced with dead ends requiring you to go up or down multiple decks to reach your destination. Eventually you learn your way around but it definitely takes more time than it should. Once you reach your destination the public areas were all typical and very adequate. Triumph was very clean and definitely looked newer than her age. Props to her crew for that. The decor was typical Carnival, what else can I say?

Cabin / Stateroom

Typical cruise ship stateroom. Nothing remarkable here.

We've done this port before. Belize is a tough one. There just isn't much there. We did the River Wallace and Altun Ha ruins through Carnival and had good experience.
Don't Miss: Hmm, cheap Belican Beer at the Wet Lizard bar near the tender area?

Booked a jeep 4x4 adventure and beach break at Passion Island through Orbitz. It was great. Highly recommended.

Pros: Great food and service

Cons: The ship layout is awkward and confusing

Recommends Carnival Triumph? Yes!
