A solid B+ Cruise

Sail Date: June 23, 2007

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

This was my second time on the Triumph. All in all, it is a good cruise value and a lot of fun. We were in a group of eleven and everyone had a great time. The food is good, not great. The deck lunch lines get long; also the ice machines did not supply us with enough ice (on decks where free iced tea and lemonade is served 24/7) Fitness room whirlpools/spas were not functioning or even filled.
Casino is large and fun; outside deck 3 is a great place if you want a little peace and quiet and some Carribean breezes. Great napping spot!
Entertainment is OK; the "talent show" is fun at week's end.

Pros: Service, Food, ammenities all pretty good. Having a balcony: the best!

Cons: Ice availablility, spas not working in Fitness center

Recommends Carnival Triumph? Yes!

George Town, Grand Cayman
Went to 7 mile beach which is gorgeous, but you don't snorkel there. Next time I'd seek out snorkeling instead.
Don't Miss: snorkeling, apparently
Cozumel, Mexico
The "ruins" were not that impressive. We hired a driver on shore and went there and two other beaches. Would try something different next time.
Don't Miss: I missed it.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Again, we booked something on our own on the internet. Went to Dunn's River (more treacherous than we thought!) and then inner tubing down White River with a local group. We had a blast doing this, but have since read about the tourist attack in Jamaica and wondered if we had been taking a risk. Anyway, you get your own tube and go a couple of miles with guides. Halfway you stop and can jump off a ledge into the water--lots of fun. Photos are taken and are available to purchase.
Don't Miss: Dunn's River, even if touristy
